On contributing to Great Full…
I have always loved stories. So, whether it be onstage, or behind a computer, I naturally found myself drawn to people’s stories and helping them share them. A fantastic opportunity led me here. Great Full embodies how I want to give back to the world too. Using your unique skills to help others.
On her role in media…
Amongst a few other things, I am a social media strategist. I educate about the positive uses of social media, and help people translate their story to an online audience. Technology has created limitless opportunities. Every technological breakthrough has the ability to enhance the lives of people around the world. I’m just waiting on teleportation.
On finding inspiration...
Inspiration truly is everywhere - as cheesy as that sounds. For me, it is strongest in those that use their skills to make a positive contribution to the world.
On a favourite piece of music…
Elton John’s ‘Tiny Dancer’ is my favourite song. It captures so much in just a few lyrics. Plus, it is arguably the best road-trip song thanks to Almost Famous.
On community…
Community is sharing a common belief and working together. There are only a few of us on this bit of land, so one of the most special things is having a collective conscious, values and humour. Like how ‘Be a tidy Kiwi’ is an unwritten law, no matter where in the world you are.
On living in New Zealand…
Born in England, I arrived in New Zealand when I was 13 - knowing little more than there were more sheep than people. Now after travelling, and living in Australia and England as an ‘adult’ - I can confidently say I am so grateful to have been brought up in New Zealand. I am so lucky to live here.
On being grateful…
My parents taught me gratitude, through their practice of giving back to the world around them. I practise gratitude by making it part of my everyday life. There are so many positive things around us, that it should be celebrated.
On a perfect day…
Any day with my family and dog Bilbo is the perfect day.
On a life lesson that she’s learnt from…
Remember to slow down and appreciate what is around you.
On family…
My parents have been there for me through so many life episodes. They have always been supportive and provided unconditional love. One of those times has been pretty recent, and I never question how grateful I am to have them.
On supporting our community with general, subspecialty and acute medical care…
We are so very, very lucky in New Zealand. Not just for having access to amazing healthcare - but also the incredible support team that goes alongside it. There is immense passion for Starship and what it provides us - just ask anyone in New Zealand - we all have a connection.
On her hope for Great Full…
I hope that Great Full gives Kiwis the opportunity to contribute to New Zealand, and feel like they are part of this community of changemakers.
From editing artist interviews to creating all things social, Tanydd's creativity comes to the fore throughout Great Full's content.
